Prayer Points – April 26
Prayer Points – April 26
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, UMN invites all people of prayer to set aside time daily to ask for God’s help in our work in Nepal. The time suggested for UMN staff is 3.00 pm. For our friends around the world, we ask that you join us either at the equivalent time in your country of 3 pm Nepal time, or whenever you are able. Many have found setting a daily alarm on their phone a useful reminder.
Thank you for your fellowship in prayer.
Joel Hafvenstein

For this is what the high and exalted One says – he who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.”
(Isaiah 57v15)
We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.
Major Matters for Prayer
  • Once more deep concern is filling the minds of people all over Nepal – One day ago in a 24 hour period there were over 3000 new cases of Covid-19 (almost half of these in the Kathmandu valley) and 28 deaths. The decision has been taken to limit any UMN activity involving unnecessary travel and risk. Pray for all our staff at this time.

  • As tragedy unfolds in India thousands of migrant workers are rushing back to Nepal with obvious risk of spreading infection. Pray for these migrants and also for all hospitals as it is expected that pressure will rise rapidly in the coming days.

  • A limited supply of vaccines are available the need far outstretches availability. Many have been closely queueing for hours in hope of being inoculated. Again we ask for prayers that supplies will increase and people will be protected as they wait.

  • Please pray for our own hospitals in Tansen and Okhaldhunga – ‘normal’ medical work must always continue while remaining vigilant and ready for another wave of the pandemic. Please pray that all necessary supplies will be in place for use come what may.
