Prayer Points – October 5
Prayer Points – October 5
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, UMN invites all people of prayer to set aside time daily to ask for God’s help in our work in Nepal. The time suggested for UMN staff is 3.00 pm. For our friends around the world, we ask that you join us either at the equivalent time in your country of 3 pm Nepal time, or whenever you are able. Many have found setting a daily alarm on their phone a useful reminder.
Thank you for your fellowship in prayer.
Joel Hafvenstein

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will direct your paths.”
(Proverbs 3v5-6)
We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.
Major Matters for Prayer
  • Praise that all four staff of Tansen hospital who contracted Covid-19 have made a good recovery.  Pray for hospital front line workers and that we continue to serve patients well. Remember also a number of our cluster staff who have been infected with Corona virus. Pray for rapid and full recovery and protection for their families.

  • Please pray for the successful food item distribution in Putha in UMN’s Rukum East Cluster. The support will be provided to the poorest families who are most affected by COVID-19.  Hemanta and Jiwan from cluster along with partner Magar Society Service and Information Centre (MIC Nepal) will be involved in distribution.

  • UMN continues to take the necessary steps to renew the Hospitals Agreement that allows us to continue to operate Tansen and Okhaldhunga hospitals. Several new registration requirements have been added recently since the process began. Please make it a matter of your concerted prayer that each ‘hurdle’ can be cleared quickly.

  • UMN is seeking candidates to serve on its Board to fill five slots that will be empty from next May.  Please pray that the right people will be called to this crucial governance role.  We are especially praying that the Lord will call Board members with skills in finance and law, as well as Nepali pastors or theologians.
