Prayer Points – September 28, 2020
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, UMN invites all people of prayer to set aside time daily to ask for God’s help in our work in Nepal. The time suggested for UMN staff is 3.00 pm. For our friends around the world, we ask that you join us either at the equivalent time in your country of 3 pm Nepal time, or whenever you are able. Many have found setting a daily alarm on their phone a useful reminder.
Thank you for your fellowship in prayer.
Joel Hafvenstein

“I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
(Mark 9:24)
We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.
Major Matters for Prayer
  • Pray for the Tansen hospital as better screening systems for our outpatients have been implemented because community spread of covid-19 increases in our area.  Tansen hospital continues to treat non Covid patients as safely as possible.

  • Take time to thank and praise God for all answered prayers. During last week there was a crisis at Okhaldhunga when the air compressor that helps produce oxygen broke down removing one vital support for sick patients. After a huge task of coordination, a new compressor has been purchased, transported and installed thus restoring an oxygen supply to all patients in need. Just one of many answered prayers that cause us great thankfulness.

  • A small number of UMN staff have tested positive for COVID19. Please pray a full recovery for them, and protection for their families.

  • Please pray for the Cluster teams who are almost all back in office and beginning to re-establish links and readjust plans to be pushing forward projects in their working areas. There will be many challenges ahead both keeping everyone safe, and also working efficiently and effectively. Your prayers for all these needs are requested.

  • UMN is making application to set up a Nepali Public Trust which will carry responsibility to manage the hospitals. This should make gaining approvals from Government departments more streamlined. Please pray for this application and all the discussions and legal work needed to finalise this.
