Prayer Priorities – January 11, 2022
“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.”
Isaiah 55v6

We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.

Praise
  • Praise God for the addition of new staff members in our clusters. Bajhang Cluster: Sita Bantha Magar, Project Manager (Livelihoods), and Sanjeev Maharjan, Driver. In Doti Cluster Manisha Burlakoti, Project Manager (Livelihoods). In Rukum East Cluster, Pramita Manandhar, Project Manager (Health). Please also pray for these colleagues and their teams as they settle in.
Prayer
  • Across Nepal there is great concern about the increasing wave of the Omicron COVID variant. Please pray that this does not result in the horrendous pressures upon medical services that were experienced at the last peak.

  • In Tansen Hospital there has not yet been a rise in COVID-19 cases but pray that we will be ready when it comes.

  • Also in Tansen, preparation is being made for our first planning meeting of the year next week.

  • The renovation of a larger high dependency unit is nearly completed and service will start again this week, so pray for the sickest patients we hope will benefit from this

  • At Thapathali, our colleague Rabbi from the Information Technology Services Team has to undergo major abdominal surgery soon. Please pray for the right diagnosis, surgery and recovery.

  • In Bajhang please continue to pray for the transitioning of UMN’s partnership with Ekikrit Bikash Manch (EBM) and community groups in Masta. May the families continue to explore possible livelihood options for their own and community transformation.

  • This week external auditors are visiting Doti cluster, please pray for successful visits. Similarly, pray for the successful recruitment of new staff in partner organisations and signing of project agreements with partners.

  • Please, also pray for recruitment of Project Managers (Mental Health) for Kapilvastu and Bajhang and Transforming Masculinity work in all clusters.

  • Kapilvastu Cluster through an assessment are choosing one partner out of their two implementing partners—SSDO and DSDC – to implement the Mental Health Project in Yashodhara and Mayadevi. Please pray for wisdom for selecting the most appropriate partner to implement this sensitive Mental Health Project.
