Nepal gears up for Local Elections

Nepal will witness its first local elections being held in 20 years on 14 May 2017, a historic event for the country that has struggled with difficult political transitions. According to the Election Commission Nepal (ECN), there will be a total of 10,640 polling locations and 18,572 polling centres for the 1,40,54,482 voters.

In this crucial moment, the citizens will cast their votes hoping that fair and deserving leaders will be chosen who will pave way to implement the constitution and ensure fair practice of democracy. The upcoming local elections will also lead the way for the provincial and national elections this year.
